Labor and delivery prep

  • Plan of care and goals are individualized based on a diagnosis and assessment of prenatal health condition. Assessment will include posture and movement analysis, test and measures, joint mobility and range of motion, muscle length and flexibility, strength tests, and diastasis recti and pelvic floor muscle assessment. A pelvic floor muscle assessment may include external and internal vaginal or rectal examination with consent of patient.

  • Labor and delivery prep treatments to include partner with comfort measures, positioning, pain management techniques, perineal massage instruction, breathwork for pushing phase, and visualization techniques. Postpartum prep includes perineal or ceserean aftercare and gentle posture and breathwork home exercise program for immediate postpartum phase.

A pelvic floor muscle assessment may include external and internal vaginal or rectal examination with consent of patient.

  • Treatment sessions are individualized based on initial evaluation and diagnosis. May include manual therapy, joint mobilizations, dry needling with electric stimulation, soft tissue mobilizations, cupping, corrective exercises, home exercise program, education, body mechanics, posture, and Pilates reformer interventions. Postpartum education will include after delivery plan of care for healing and safe return to fitness with strength and load impact assessment for pelvic floor dysfunction.

BABY & ME PILATES GROUP MAT CLASSES

Wednesdays 10:30-11:30am at Spyre Center

  • Multilevel Pilates mat class for new moms and their babies 6 weeks to crawling. Classes are held in the Fitness Studio at Spyre Center. Moms get a gentle pelvic floor and core focused Pilates workout and bring their baby. Songs, interaction with baby and bubbles are combined with fitness and community. Taught by a pelvic physical therapist and Pilates certified instructor.
